Your Child’s Learning

You may wish to contact a subject teacher about any of the following:

  • Homework issues
  • Issues relating to classroom work.
  • Concerns about your child’s progress.
  • How you may help your child in this subject.
  • Detentions
  • Awards/Achievements
  • Reports/Assessments

Having spoken with your child’s subject teacher you may wish to seek further advice from a Curriculum Leader.

Learning Managers monitor student progress and achievements across subjects in the College; you may be asked to meet with Learning Managers to discuss issues that relate to more than one subject.

Your Child’s Welfare

You may wish to contact the College for a number of reasons other than those to do with learning.

All teachers in our College are tutors. The tutor group is shown in brackets next to the teacher’s name.

Initial contact should be via your child’s tutor:

this can be a note from you in the student planner or a telephone call to the College reception asking for the tutor to return your call.

You may wish to inform the tutor about:

Student Support Managers

You may wish to contact Student Support Managers about:

  • Relationship difficulties that your child is having with students or adults in the College.
  • Bullying issues.
  • Outside of College concerns.
  • Attendance issues.
  • Student ‘on-report’ cards or tracking sheets.
  • Personal Support Plans (PSP)
  • Advice about other support agencies.
  • House activities that you would like to support.
  • Any other concern other than learning.

Student Support Managers are available throughout the day and can deal with any issues to do with your child’s welfare. Please call the College and press 4 when asked which will put you through to the PA to the Student Support Managers.

Having spoken with your Student Support Managers, you may wish to seek further advice from the Learning Manager for Student Support Managers who oversees their work.
