Trips & visits

PGL adventure Europe - Ardèche - South of France

PGL logoWe have been running highly successful trips to the Ardèche and Mediterranean for the last 14 years in conjunction with PGL.

The trip is mainly water based with half the time being spent on the Mediterranean coast learning to sail, windsurf, canoe surf, snorkel and then moving north to spend time canoeing down the white water rapids in the spectacular Ardèche gorge.

Students also benefit from visiting local towns and villages (enhancing their French vocabulary!). One big highlight is the visit to Aqualand, a water theme park.

All students have a fantastic time, but it must be stressed a PGL adventure is not just about having fun. All students gain in self confidence and develop a social awareness and interaction.

This trip is a wonderful learning environment outside the classroom and students look back on it as being one of their best experiences at the college!

Devonshire park ladies tennis tournament

International Woman's Open logoThis is an international tournament held every year preceding Wimbledon. All the top lady players from across the world attend, including Kim Clijsters, Justinne Hennin, Jelena Dokie, Anastasia Myskins & Lisa Raymond to name a few.

This trip is usually available to years 7 & 8 (boys included!).

Thorpe park

Thorpe Park logoWe run a trip to Thorpe Park with year 9 after their SATS exams. Students are encouraged to focus on the science and ICT behind the rides, advertising at the park and materials & processes used in contructing the rides.

All this will be achieved whilst speeding upside-down on a roller coaster of course...

More information for students will soon be available at www.thorpepark.com/students.php
