Camber Parish Council – Great British Spring Clean 2019

CAMBER BEACH

SATURDAY 6TH April 2019 Meeting at Central Car Park at 10am

Camber Parish Council has pledged its support for this year’s Great British Spring Clean, run by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.

The campaign, which runs from March 22nd to April 23rd, will see up to half a million people taking action to clean up streets, parks and beaches across the country.

Keep Britain Tidy Chief Executive Allison Ogden-Newton said: “The Great British Spring Clean is an opportunity for the millions of people who care about the environment on their doorstep to do something positive that will make a visible difference.

“We are delighted that Camber Parish Council is supporting this year’s campaign and would like to thank them for their support.

“Without councils across the country giving the campaign their backing, our volunteers would not be able to do the incredible job they do.”

Camber Parish Council is organising a beach clean on Saturday morning 6th April from 10am until 12pm.  We are meeting at Central Car Park and litter picking along the beach and the sea wall at Broomhill. We have been provided litter sacks by Keep Britain Tidy and will be reimbursed by Rother District Council who have a pot of funding from which we have purchased gloves, litter pickers, Hi Visibility vests and bag hoops.  Rother District Council will arrange for the rubbish sacks to be collected by Kier following the litter pick.

The Gallivant has kindly offered to provide refreshments following the litter pick for those who have taken part.

Please register on the Keep Britain Tidy website if you wish to take part in the event. Or you may contact Cllr John Bradford  john.bradford@camberparishcouncil.org.uk
