Sharing details of an exciting project that some of our Year 10 students are participating in - The HerStory of Rye.

This fascinating initiative looks at the oral history of women in the Rye, to uncover hidden stories of the town and to celebrate women's working lives throughout the Rye community. Students have been taught how to interview and accurately record the testimonies of a range of women. They have completed training workshops to focus on the important skill of actively listening. They put these skills in practice last Friday by conducting interviews with members of the community whose stories have been selected to be included in the project.

The finished oral history information will form a display later this year in the Rye Heritage Centre which is being funded through the the Heritage Lottery scheme.

Thank you to all interviewees who attended our interview programme last Friday - we are so grateful for your time, your stories and commitment to helping our students participate in this brilliant project.
